Top 5 Restaurants in Malaysia Where You Can Find Quality Food and Breathtaking Views!

  • Food Quality — We prioritised restaurants known for consistently well-prepared dishes, quality ingredients, and positive dining feedback.
  • Ambience and Views — We favoured venues that offer scenic surroundings, whether city skylines, coastal landscapes, or lush greenery.
  • Transparency — We looked for restaurants that clearly present menus, pricing, and dining information so guests know what to expect.
  • Overall Experience — We selected places recognised for attentive service, comfortable settings, and a memorable dining atmosphere.

After trying more restaurants around Malaysia than we probably needed to (purely for experience, of course), we realised not every place with a “nice view” actually delivers on the food. Some impressed with the scenery but left us quietly wishing we’d eaten somewhere else first.

Over time, though, we found a few spots that truly get the balance right—where the dishes are just as memorable as the surroundings. Good food feels even better when paired with skylines, coastlines, or lush landscapes.

So after plenty of taste-testing and view-chasing, these are our top picks! Here are the restaurants in Malaysia where the food and scenery are equally worth the visit.

How much does restaurant food in Malaysia cost?

In Malaysia, a meal at an inexpensive local restaurant or food court typically costs between RM10 to RM20 per person. A three-course meal at a mid-range restaurant generally ranges from RM40 to RM80 per person.

Food was absolutely delicious

“We are truly grateful for the thoughtful seating arrangement and the warm, friendly service provided. My partner and I were able to enjoy a wonderfully romantic birthday celebration here, surrounded by a beautiful ambience.

The dining experience was excellent — the food was not only well-prepared but also absolutely delicious. In particular, the Australian beef, cod fish, and the tiramisu dessert stood out as exceptional highlights.

A memorable evening with great food, a romantic environment, and attentive service. Highly recommended.”

Classy spot for special ocassions

“Celebrated my dad’s birthday at Bunglow37 in the Topaz Room. The room was stunning and perfect for our group of 8 (6 adults, 2 kids). The supervisor, Mr T.C, was fantastic—attentive, explained the menu clearly, and was amazing with the kids. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.

Overall, the service, the setting, and the quality of the food all combined to make a special night. My dad felt honoured, we all felt relaxed, and it’s a memory we’ll treasure. I highly recommend Bunglow37 for anyone looking to celebrate an important occasion with family.

They treat each guest like a royalty

“We celebrated my husband’s birthday here and from the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The staff were well-trained, attentive and genuinely warm. We were served by a male server— Mr. Shahrul or Shahril (forgive me if I got the name wrong 😅, who provided exceptional service and even helped us take couple photos. The food was top-notch and the signature birthday cake I requested was a lovely touch. With the stunning KLCC Twin Towers view and a dim, romantic ambience, we had a truly memorable time. We would definitely return again.”

What made us love Restaurant by Cameron Lavender Mansion was how thoughtfully the entire experience reflected its lavender-inspired concept. The European-style setting feels charming and calm, creating a relaxing atmosphere that suits special occasions or slow lunches.

The subtle floral theme gives the space a distinct identity without feeling overwhelming.

We enjoyed the smoked duck paired with caramelised orange, which balanced savoury richness with a light citrus note. The baked chicken with creamy mushroom was comforting, and the portions felt satisfying for the price point.

For the drinks, the lavender latte and lavender lemonade added a creative touch, offering something different from typical cafe beverages.

One thing we noticed is that the reception service was slightly less attentive. Lucky us because the dining staff were warm and helpful once seated. They even reminded us that they also accommodate special arrangements for personalised celebrations!

Pros

  • Unique concept
  • Creative drinks
  • Cosy ambience

Cons

  • Inattentive receptionist

The view of Cameron Highlands’ cool surroundings adds a refreshing charm to Lemon Button Cafe & Dining, especially after a day exploring nearby attractions. The cafe’s relaxed interior creates a welcoming space for families and small groups.

What we really love about this spot is their halal-certified menu, making it accessible to a wider crowd. We also appreciated how the dishes highlight familiar Western comfort food with a local touch.

We highly recommend their sirloin steak, which was very tender and juicy when served. It can be paired nicely with creamy mashed potatoes and vegetables.

Their spaghetti carbonara was rich without feeling heavy, while the homemade wedges were crisp and satisfying.

However, we noticed that the service could slow down during busy periods, likely due to higher demand. Nonetheless, their staff remained courteous and accommodating throughout our visit.

We also enjoyed the variety of options, from hearty mains to lighter drinks like warm honey lemon and teh tarik. Pricing felt reasonable for a hotel-based dining spot with consistent quality.

Pros

  • Halal menu
  • Cosy setting
  • Family friendly

Cons

  • Slower service

Great service

“Great food though it’s offerings are geared to a western palate.  The numerous teas were good.  The mushroom soup was homemade and seasoned well.  The garlic bread served with it is sadly better than what i typically get in the US.  The fish and chips were good, crisp and used cod filets.  Would have preferred a single large piece, but that’s just nitpicking. The spaghetti beef bolognese was great.  The scones were pillowy soft though not as warm as I’d like.  Everything was reasonable priced e kept I think the soup was just a touch expensive, but it is home made compared to other places.  Service was great and very fast”
