Choosing just one wasn’t easy, especially when each brought something unique to the table. So, to help anyone else considering a switch to solar, here’s our list of Malaysia’s top solar companies ready to bring sustainable energy to every space.

How much does a solar company service in Malaysia cost?

A residential solar panel system in Malaysia typically costs between RM4,000 and RM5,000 per kilowatt peak (kWp) for the complete installation.
Therefore, a standard system for a landed home (around 4 to 8 kWp) usually ranges from RM16,000 to RM40,000, with the final price depending on the system’s size and the quality of the components used.

Verdant Solar went into our radar when we noted their strong presence in Malaysia’s residential solar market.

From the very beginning, their team made communication incredibly smooth—they responded quickly, provided clear information about their packages, and even initiated a WhatsApp group for more direct coordination.

They’re also clear and transparent regarding their solar system’s capacity, net energy metering process, and maintenance support, displaying their knowledge answering each query.

They also offer a virtual roof assessment and walk clients through the SEDA application and TNB processes, making the process easy.

A downside, however, was during the explanation of the technical side of the installation. While the sales and design team were professional, the installation side seemed less prepared to elaborate on things like roof load distribution and the timeline breakdown.

One thing they can improve, however, is having uniforms for their on-site team for a more professional look.

Pros

  • Fast and clear responses
  • Excellent end-to-end consultation
  • Transparent pricing
  • Strong after-sales support

Cons

  • Needs improvement in explaining technical terms

Very satisfied with their work

“I had my solar panels installed last year September, very satisfied with the performance, functionality notably the Micro-Inverter controlling solar panels in groups division. The team arrived on time, installation process ran smoothly, and completed the jobs within the day itself. Working enviroment at roof top or ground floor are entire clean, tidy & neatly. I had cost saving in mind after explained further by Customer Service Team and I hope for ROI sooner or later. I do recommend to friends for a smart long-term investment, last but not least I’m very happy with the products and service that I received.”

When we got in touch with AQ Energy, we were curious about their reputation and long-standing experience in Malaysia’s solar industry. The rep we spoke with provided a solid walkthrough of the entire process—from assessing our energy needs to explaining how the Net Energy Metering (NEM) program works.

We liked how they tailored the system to match our energy goals instead of overselling us on capacity we didn’t need. It also helped that they’ve been in the game for over 12 years, with more than 1,000 completed projects definitely gave us confidence.

That said, their responsiveness could use some work. There were times when our questions weren’t answered until a follow-up the next day.

On the plus side, their track record for fast installations is impressive. Several clients confirmed that AQ Energy completed their setups within a week, and the rebate processing was smooth.

If you’re after a custom solar setup without being pushed around, they’re worth looking into.

Pros

  • Custom-tailored solar solutions
  • Experienced with over 1,000 projects
  • Fast and clean installation

Cons

  • Follow-up on inquiries can be delayed

Just in time before Raya holidays! Received solaris rebate email from TNB on 03/04 morning for RM4k rebate! Thumbs up to Joe and Team 5! Selamat hari raya, maaf zahir & batin!”

One thing we immediately noticed while researching Suncrox Solar is the lack of a direct booking option on their website. If you’re the kind of person who prefers scheduling a consultation online without having to call or message, this might slow things down for you.

It’s a small thing, but in today’s world, where convenience matters, it stands out.

That said, Suncrox clearly brings more to the table than just panels and installations. What made them stand out during our research was their strong educational presence—they actively participate in school talks and community events to raise solar awareness.

Their commitment to teaching people how solar works, along with the impact it can make, sets them apart from companies that only focus on sales. We also like that they offer custom solutions—not just for homes, but also for vehicles and off-grid needs.

Their team is known for being informative, and their Crox product line is unique, reportedly patented, and adaptable across various platforms. If you’re interested in learning while going solar, Suncrox is worth exploring.

Pros

  • Offers a tailored solar setup
  • Strong focus on solar education
  • Active in awareness campaigns

Cons

  • No direct online booking system

When we surveyed GT Solar, what immediately caught our attention was how polished and knowledgeable their team sounded—even before the technical talk began. As licensed TNB contractors, they offer a complete solar solution—from consultation and design to installation and final testing.

That’s a huge plus for anyone who wants the job done by a single, capable team. They cater to residential, commercial, and industrial clients, and we were impressed to learn they partner with reputable brands like Huawei and Solis, which adds more credibility to their technical offering.

During our survey, we also looked into their average turnaround times. Based on several client accounts, the whole process—from paperwork to installation—tends to take around 45 to 50 days.

While this may not be the fastest timeline in the market, customers consistently praised the team’s transparency, communication, and professionalism at every stage.

The only recurring drawback we noted from customers was the cost. Their packages may sit on the higher side, so if you’re working on a tight budget, it might stretch things a bit.

Pros

  • End-to-end solar solutions
  • Partners with Huawei and Solis
  • Highly communicative
  • Professional team

Cons

  • Packages can be expensive compared to others

Visiting Milieu Solar was a fun experience, and their organisation and well-structured consultation process are very commendable. From the moment we stepped into their office, we were efficiently led to their entire EPCC flow—engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

With the use of clear visuals and example projects, we can definitely say that we learned a lot that day. Whether you’re a homeowner or managing a commercial space, their approach feels customisable.

The staff didn’t rush to understand our questions and even showed me how the solar monitoring system works post-installation, which gave us a clear picture of what to expect long-term.

However, it’s worth noting that their office is closed on weekends. That can be a bit limiting, especially for people who work weekdays and only have time to drop by or make serious inquiries on Saturdays.

Still, Milieu Solar came across as a knowledgeable and client-focused team with a strong reputation for after-sales service. Their technical staff appeared well-versed in installation practices, and their TNB process handling seems smooth, based on the documents and timelines they presented.

Pros

  • Transparent, consultative approach
  • Full EPCC support
  • Strong after-sales assistance

Cons

  • Not available on weekends

Very professional

“Overall Milieu team performed the installation in a very professional manner. I am very satisfied with the services from sales, installation and final activation. Thanks.”
