HIFU, otherwise known as High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound, seems to be the thing it says, but better than any classic facial treatment or getting under the knife.

Those looking for a good HIFU facelift should definitely keep Dr Chong Clinic on their list. With 13 locations from Kuala Lumpur to JB, its team of brilliant doctors and staff is one to trust.
We appreciate the clinic’s ethos of creating personalised treatment plans. Most of these use non-invasive procedures for better safety and comfort.
Dr Chong Clinic is also one of the more transparent players for pricing. Its website already states how much HIFU and other treatments cost, which is still quite rare to see in the market.
That said, the clinic isn’t without flaws. Booking a slot can be a bit susah—messaging them via WhatsApp may or may not get you a timely reply.
Some past clients we spoke to also mentioned occasional upselling, as well as almost nonexistent parking (slots are reserved for the clinic and co-tenants). Hopefully, at least one of these issues will be improved this year.

From the start, we already liked this clinic a lot. It’s spotless and streamlined, plus it just rebranded recently, revealing its solid 12-year track record. The doctors and staff are also pretty lah, which makes visits more pleasant.
Lynvin offers new clients a free 3D body or skin analysis to understand skin and health history better. This helps them recommend the best treatment, and if it’s an ultrasound you need, the clinic uses the clearer Ultherapy Prime in sessions.
The only downside is the lack of pricing transparency. We know total costs vary per patient, but at least give a ballpark figure per procedure, right? We really hope that “norm” changes to whatever’s best for clients.

People who love K-beauty are in for a real treat in Clinic RX. This multi-branch spot specialises in Korean-style aesthetic treatments and health advice.
We felt at ease with transacting with Clinic RX right away, thanks to its being around since 2014. The Johor branch even looks surprisingly modern and updated, better than we expected, lah!
Treatments like classic HIFU here are also on point, great for achieving that refreshed, lifted look. Perhaps the best thing we found out is that the skilled, LCP-certified doctors take time to explain everything, letting you think through options before diving in 100%.
On the other hand, some clients have raised eyebrows about appointment delays. We gathered that they got irritated waiting for hours because the previous session overran, or the doctor had some prior matter they were still attending to.
Maybe it’s from being too patient-focused, but we hope they strike a better balance soon.

MyClinic in Johor has been around since 2019. As one of many branches, it does a decent job of living up to its one-stop-shop vibe for aesthetic treatments.
Instead of HIFU, MyClinic offers Ultherapy and Ultherapy Prime for non-invasive facelifts.
We see a couple of clear wins here. The ambience feels classy, not snobbish; the doctors plus staff are also attentive, always trying their best to make you look good.
Some past customers we chatted with noted that the effort can flip-flop after at the end stages of the entire process, or when payment is fulfilled, though. Pricing also seems to be on a need-to-know basis.
We respect the strategy of not spilling pricing details on its website and socials. But still we wish they’d be more open—we think doing so is real competitiveness.
Some clients also noted getting turned off by the hard sell. Hopefully, that gets toned down for a smoother experience overall.

We think we’re not wrong in considering Dr Wee in Johor Bahru as a true holistic beauty treatment provider.
Not only do they offer standard HIFU but also Nemesis HIFU for tougher skin issues, Ultherapy, Ultherapy Prime, and even Ultraformer. What a lineup, lah!
We also heard plenty about Dr Wee himself from clients. Most agree that he’s super skilled and genuinely nice.
We just wish that the same vibe trickled down to the rest of his staff more consistently. Thankfully, experiences seem to vary from one person to another, so there’s some hope for change.
Some advice, though. First, book in person whenever you can and document your appointment and payments properly, as the clinic still needs to polish up those sides of things.
Even so, Dr Wee’s is still worth it in our books.
