Dovetail Life Coach really surprised us—in the best way. Irene, the main coach, is seriously loaded with credentials (we’re talking business law, a master’s in law, plus all sorts of heavy-hitting certifications in NLP and hypnotherapy, with recognition from US boards).

What got us, though, is how she doesn’t just stick to a script—sessions are totally tailored, so you never get that assembly-line coaching vibe.

From what we saw, she blends NLP, light trance, visualization, and a dose of stress-busting techniques, picking whichever combo fits each person.

We loved that she offers group stuff, too, and her range covers everything from natural weight loss coaching (yes, really) to stress management and relaxation. Signing up for the free 30-minute Zoom call felt super low-pressure—perfect if you’re new to all this.

Plus, after-care support on WhatsApp and email meant we, or anyone else, wouldn’t be left hanging if things got tough between sessions.

However, we couldn’t find here exact opening hours anywhere, which made booking a little awkward.

Pros

  • Highly qualified and certified coach
  • Tailored, client-specific coaching approaches
  • Free 30-minute Zoom consult available
  • Offers both individual and group sessions
  • Proactive client support available
  • Wide range of specialized services
  • Positive client feedback

Cons

  • Operating hours not listed online

No-nonsense healing with unique skills

“I’ve recently joined Irene’s breathwork and it is a truly amazing experience. It’s like pilates for the soul. Beside from just doing breathwork, she integrated many of her other healing skills craft to evoke comprehensive healing such as hypnosis, sound and energy healing. Truely one of a kind and all encompassing healer or therapist.

Side note, since she is an Indigo Child generation, be prepared to shatter your limiting beliefs with her no nonsense approaches and ability to pull your heads outta your butts (haha). She also has a firm way of doing therapy. 😆”

– Richard Murphy,  Google Review

Deep self-discovery and inner peace facilitation

“Sessions I had helps me a lot to unlock my traumas and allowed me to know myself better, it also helps me dig in deep inside myself having better understanding of myself especially in areas I never knew is there deep in me. It does help in bring peace in me and help me find peace with my own self. Is a work in progress and some journey still but it helps me a lot in going in the right direction.”

We’ve had our share of trial-and-error with coaches in KL, but Pauline NLP really stands out.

Maybe it’s all those years coaching everyone from doctors to entrepreneurs—or the fact that she’s certified in pretty much every acronym under the sun, from NLP and hypnosis to Time Line Therapy™.

We like that Pauline doesn’t just do the typical “one-size-fits-all” approach. Here, sessions feel very much tailored, whether you want deep breakthrough coaching, hypnotherapy, or just sales confidence.

Her lifetime support thing is honestly a game-changer; you get free refresher classes, access to your coach through WhatsApp, plus weekend or after-hours slots if you need complete privacy. Even the online course setup is a breeze to navigate.

Clients we spoke with liked her firm but encouraging style—no sugar-coating, but always with your best interest at heart. The only downside? You’ll need to book way in advance if you want here one-to-one.

Pros

  • Decades of coaching experience
  • Certified in NLP, Hypnosis, and Time Line Therapy™
  • Lifetime support
  • After-hours sessions for privacy
  • Free 45-minute consultation
  • Supportive, no-nonsense coaching style

Empowering self-discovery

“Pauline is a great coach/ therapist. I have attended her coaching sessions. She has taught me a lot about myself, identifying my own limiting beliefs and showed me the way to overcome all my obstacles. Within a month, I have been able to remove or overcome most of the problems in my life.

Definitely worthwhile!”

– Calvin Tan, Google Review

Clearer direction and renewed personal confidence

“Previously, I felt lost and stagnant in life, I was unsure of what direction to take next. Through NLP, Pauline guided me to clear those limiting beliefs and find the answers within myself. As a result, I now have greater clarity, direction, and a sense of personal empowerment, all of which have been incredibly transformative. I truly believe everyone should experience this NLP Breakthrough Coaching, it’s something that can benefit anyone who is seeking for personal growth.”

Exceed Excellence has a bigger impact on KL’s corporate scene than we expected. Anita Lawrence’s reputation alone is a major draw—she’s Maxwell Leadership-certified and clearly knows how to get the best out of people, both one-on-one and in big groups.

What stood out to us is their depth: Anita founded Exceed Excellence in 2003, which means we’re talking two decades of solid experience in leadership, communication, EQ, productivity, and personality-focused coaching.

We went through her full range of offerings, and it’s not your generic “leadership is important” stuff—programs like Leader Development Experience and Personality Plus® dig deep into the psychology of being an effective leader or team player.

The sessions are mapped out in phases, so you’re constantly building on what you learn, and the mix of tools (like Six Seconds EQ and Working Genius) keeps things practical and meaningful.

Sadly, not all co-trainers of Anita join live. Some modules are video-based, which we found a bit less inspiring.

Pros

  • Over 20 years of experience
  • Maxwell Leadership-certified founder
  • Comprehensive programmes in leadership
  • Practical tools like Six Seconds EQ
  • Step-by-step, progressive learning modules
  • Wide client base across major organizations

Cons

  • Some sessions feature pre-recorded videos

Boosted leadership confidence and self-awareness

“A wonderful rejuvenation session. Has made me more confident as a leader – as I gained confidence whether I am on the right path – as well as gained insight on what I could do better”

– Pamela Devadason, Google Review

Insightful and engaging leadership development

“Had a really good time learning and growing in leadership from this team. The sessions has been insightful and engaging and it’s given me much to think about and reflect. All the best to the team and I hope you’ll continue to inspire many more people.”

Room to Talk International definitely made our shortlist for recommended life coaches in KL! First off, there’s no awkward self-help jargon here—just Claudia Binder, the founder, who gets straight to what you need with proven tricks like Positive Intelligence Coaching and RTT hypnotherapy.

Trust us, her toolkit is packed: add in physical intelligence, ego-state therapy, and EMDR, and you’ve got someone who genuinely gets how to move people past stress and not-so-great headspaces.

Claudia’s free one-on-one mental fitness intro is a major bonus–you can test the waters before signing up for anything. We also appreciate the live weekly sessions (about 30 mins each) because they take less commitment but deliver real value.

Plus, we saw that her strategies aren’t just talk; clients mentioned they left sessions feeling more resilient, clear-headed, and even more productive at work. Claudia’s coaching style is all hear but also refreshingly practical, and we never felt like we were getting generic advice.

A heads up, though: we found that sessions can run at a fast pace—not a big deal, but it’s worth noting.

Pros

  • Diverse, science-backed coaching methods
  • free introductory mental fitness sessions
  • Wide range of tools for stress, trauma, and performance
  • Practical, actionable strategies
  • Weekly short but impactful live sessions
  • Warm, non-intimidating atmosphere

Cons

  • Sessions may feel fast-paced for some

Supportive guidance and effective tools

“Even after just two sessions with Claudia, I’ve already felt a noticeable difference. She helped me with both lower back pain and some emotional struggles I had been carrying for a while. Her calm and supportive presence made it easy to open up, and her insights were spot on. Claudia has a way of making you feel heard and understood, and the tools she offered were practical and effective. I’m really grateful for the positive shift I’ve felt in such a short time, and I’m looking forward to having more sessions with her.”
