How much does it cost to go to a spa in Johor Bahru?
The cost of visiting a spa in Johor Bahru varies depending on the type of treatment and the spa. For instance, you can enjoy a 30-minute treatment starting at RM98 or a 60-minute session for RM168. Meanwhile, other spas offer packages ranging from RM298 for individual treatments.
1. 38°c Onsen Spa JB Mount Austin

Address: Akademik Suite, Block A #G, 05, Jalan Austin Heights Utama
Phone: +60 11 7019 7499
Business Hours: Monday to Sunday – 10:30 AM to 9 PM
The highlight at 38°C Onsen Spa is, of course, their 38°C onsen baths. Unlike the intense waters of natural hot springs in Japan and Korea, we’ve found that these baths offer a milder and comfortable heat level.
While the mineral-rich water did melt my stress away, my experience was made even better with the spa’s elegant decor and with the delightful desserts they served.
What’s more, their unique kimono experience adds a cultural twist as we get to embrace Japanese tradition!
Another aspect that sets them apart is how family-friendly they are. In fact, their package allows parents to enjoy the full onsen and massage service while including up to three kids for the onsen experience.
Of course, the star of the experience is the massage itself—the masseuses are so great that I fall asleep mid-session!
Sadly, their online and mobile inquiry channels are unresponsive, though it’s probably due to a high volume of messages.
Super accommodating staff
“Super duper relaxing. Love the whole experience. Especially enjoyed the massage that I fell asleep. Totally worth the time. We were held up at the customs and were running late but the staff there was super accommodating and helped us move the schedule around so we could still enjoy everything and still feel relax by the end. Clean and new too!”

Great photo opportunities with kimono
“Recommended: Had a fun time taking photos in the kimono… staff is very kind and will bring you to various spots in the shop for photo-taking too… like the place… very new place with new amenities. Very good experience”

2. Thai Imperial Spa Plaza DNP

Address: Plaza DNP, 2.05, Jalan Dato Abdullah Tahir
Phone: +60 11 5201 1222
Business Hours: Monday to Sunday – 12 PM to 2 AM
Thai Imperial Spa pretty much nails it when it comes to authentic massage experiences. They’ve got all sorts of options, like traditional Thai massage, foot reflexology, oil therapy, and even Chinese-inspired treatments, so you’re definitely spoilt for choice.
What’s cool is they let you choose your preferred pressure level before you start—super handy if you’re picky like me. Oh, and every treatment room has a little safe box for your stuff, so you can just chill out without worrying about your belongings.
The place itself is super clean, and when we spent time in their lobby, it was so relaxing with calming piano music playing in the background and free Wi-Fi.
Do keep in mind, though, that feedback on their Thai scrub was mixed—while it’s a favorite among many, some have found it to be a bit aggressive.
Another thing, parking here can be a bit of a headache. If you’re driving, you’d better plan or check out one of their other locations (there are another two in Johor Bahru!)
Warm and welcoming hospitality
“Friendly reception staff and masseuse
Came here with family. Family took the massage but I decided to skip today. Staff are friendly and say I can follow them even if I am just tagging along.
Well done for the hospitality.
Free wifi. Nice lobby to chill with piano music.”

Quite and serene session
“Masseuse 06 providing an excellent sport massage. Absolutely recommended! Great service and price. Room is quiet and the masseuse not talking to each other. What a serene session! It is likely because it is not weekend yet!”

3. Rexury Wellness Centre – Crest Austin

Address: 37, Jalan Jaya Putra 7/4, Bandar Jaya Putra
Phone: +60 1 8773 6699
Business Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 11 AM to 11 PM
- Friday to Sunday – 11 AM to 12 AM
The Rexury Wellness Centre has 17 rejuvenation rooms (so waiting times are almost non-existent here), and the couple’s massage rooms in particular stand out—super cozy and thoughtfully designed.
Here, before every massage session, you’re gently guided to wash your feet, and the staff doesn’t just hand you a towel—they actually help you do it.
The massage services themselves include everything from back and shoulder massages to foot care and hot stone therapy. And once you’re done? You’re treated to a drink of your choice and a slice of cake to seal the experience truly.
We also appreciate the added safety features like safe boxes in every room, so you don’t have to worry about keeping an eye on your valuables.
Booking a session couldn’t be simpler either, thanks to their responsive online channels. That said, communication could use a bit of improvement—my massage therapist skipped asking me about my pressure preferences and never did until the end.
Excellent technique
“First time visiting Rexury and what an experience it has been. My masseuse was Hanna. She has such soft hands and amazing pressure. Various techniques and she checked up on me just nice, with a lot of politeness. Love the way I feel post massage. And the dessert after the massage is the cherry on top. Strong ginger tea, amazing interior and perfect professionalism. Will definitely recommend this place and Hanna.”

Gentle and precise pressure point massage
“First time here at this massage place, and I absolutely loved it here! Mr Sarip, was my masseuse and he was really really good! I would highly recommend whoever to please request for him. He was gentle and pressed all the pressure points for me and I really feel so light now after the massage! I would definitely come back again here and request Mr Sarip. Thank you so much Sir”

4. Signature Ayu Borneo @ Bukit Indah Hotel Granada

Address: Level 2, 55, Jalan Indah 15/2, Bukit Indah
Phone: +60 7234 5330
Business Hours: Monday to Sunday – 11 AM to 12 AM
Signature Ayu Borneo really stands out for its unique offerings and meticulous care. It specializes in its bespoke Urutan Malaysia, which has become known as a signature service.
Other than this, they also provide equally enticing options like authentic Thai massages and tailor-made wellness treatments. I personally love how they’re always running promotions, so you get to indulge without feeling like you’re splurging.
In terms of the place, it has a warm and polished vibe, and their therapists are skilled, with techniques that focus on relaxing yet rejuvenating experiences.
However, you can request a specific therapist only if you’re booking for sessions that are 90 minutes or more. One more thing, sessions here must be booked at least two days in advance, so planning is key.
While their services are commendable, you might find this a tad inconvenient, especially if you’re looking for quick, same-day relief.
Amazing aromatherapy treatment
“Had a really good massage here. It is located on the 2nd Floor of Hotel Granada. The masseur I had is Thai and she spoke English. I did the 90 min happy hour aromatherapy treatment which was amazing. They had a small space which offered light refreshments. Highly recommended.”
– Denise, Google Review
Reasonably priced massages
“Our first time me and my daughter had relaxing time together in Ayu Borneo doing foot massage and full body massage. Good service, clean and comfortable with reasonable price. Keep it up!”

5. Bangkok Spa Taman Sri Tebrau

Address: 177A, Jalan Perisai, Taman Sri Tebrau
Phone: +60 7338 2233
Business Hours: Monday to Sunday – 11 AM to 5 PM
Bangkok Spa is one of the top destinations for authentic Thai massage and wellness treatments. With most of the therapists hailing from Thailand, they specialize in traditional Thai massages, aromatherapy, and reflexology services.
What makes them unique, we think, is their approach—every session begins with a consultation where the therapist listens to your preferences and specific needs for a tailored experience.
This level of personalized care is a standout feature, which many clients have highlighted. If you’re visiting with a partner or family, their VIP rooms with private sauna and jacuzzi deliver a luxurious experience.
Another thoughtful perk they provide is complimentary drop-off service post-treatment—a rare find among spas.
However, the standard massage rooms are located near the reception area, so noise can filter in; opting for the VIP rooms is a great way to avoid this.
Also, the wait time can be longer, even with an appointment, since they accept walk-ins.
Quick communication and convenient shuttle service
“Good massage place with better services and massage quality than the other branches. They have shuttle van to city square as well. Just call or WhatsApp them they reply quick. They have professional door opener at the door as well, can apply for this job if you like to open doors.”
– Seah Jia Hui, Google Review
Friendly staff and reliable transport service
“Service was good and we really enjoyed our massages. They offered pickup and drop offs service to nearby hotels or shopping malls. Staffs were friendly and accommodating. Will visit again.”
